You like (or even love) the awesome AVATAR movie and the Na’vi people and also the language like Jake Sully does? You love the way Neytiri speaks? Thought about learning the language, but are afraid that it’s too difficult and wouldn’t be any fun? Txopu rä’ä si – fear not!
Of course, learning a new language (conlang or “real” language doesn’t make much difference) always takes some effort and a lot of time, but it’s also very rewarding. From the release of the movie up til now many helpful and fun ways to learn have been created and published by many enthusiasts of the language and, of course, the father of the language, Dr. Paul Frommer, himself.
This beautiful conlang is still undergoing heavy development and is expanded further and further every day – but that doesn’t mean that you can’t actively write and talk in Na’vi already! There are currently around 2200 words existing and more will follow. The language has a fully developed grammar and syntax. So it is indeed a real, usable language!
